does your paradigm belong to you?

A paradigm is a ‘multitude of habits that are fixed in our subconscious mind’, according to Bob Proctor, in his book, ‘Change Your Paradigm, Change Your Life’.  These habits, which are deeply ingrained, in our subconscious mind, dictate so much of our behaviors, such as the food we like to eat; how we spend our time; how we dress; our outlook and view on life; and even the money we earn. All the while, we are not even consciously aware sometimes of what we are doing, and why we are doing it.

These habits were formed, in our subconscious mind, from birth through our formative years, around six years old, and prior to the development of our conscious mind.  Whatever we were being exposed to, hearing, or going on around us, would have made an imprint into our subconscious mind, and we were without the developed higher, mental faculties to determine if we were in alignment with the thoughts, we wanted, or not.

The subconscious mind works deductively, which means it accepts whatever is put into it.  It functions automatically, on ‘auto pilot’, and does not stop, and think, or consider, and reject something, it does not want.  It accepts it all.  When there is a developed conscious mind, you have the ability, then, to ‘make a decision’, and possibly reject anything you do not want to ‘keep, and own, as your own thoughts’.

What this means is that most everyone would have a set of habits, and beliefs, installed into their minds, that they did not develop, or choose, themselves.  These are likely the habits, or beliefs, belonging to your parents, or your caregivers, or any other close family members.  That is, of course, unless you have done your own personal work around ‘paradigms’, to see if what was installed, into your mind, is something you wanted to keep, or edit, or delete, and completely change.

Well before your conscious mind was even developed, your paradigm was being impressed into your mind.  Those impressions stay with you, over the course of your life, dictating so much about your behaviors, and your choices, and how you live your life.  So, while you may want to do things differently, you may find yourself struggling up against a system of beliefs, and habits, which were solidly formed, and you function from, without having to think about it

If you think of your own parents, in this particular time period, of when you were born, on to around six years old, what was going on with them? What was their mental mindset?  What were they going through? Were these good times, for them?  Were they going through financial struggles?  What would the dialogue have sounded like?  Would they have had good relationship with money?  Would there have been abundance experienced?  Were they happy?  Were they successful and setting and achieving goals?  How were they living their lives?  Then, what about other family members, or caregivers?

Stop to consider your answers, to the questions, above, and what impressions would have been made, on you, during those years.  Whatever was going on, and whatever mental state your parents may have been in, would have molded your subconscious mind.  The real question is if it is reflective of you?  Are these the beliefs you want to hold, as representation of you?  Do these beliefs, habits, and paradigm belong to you?  Or, possibly to someone else, and even handed down, generationally, for even as long as hundreds of years?  Could your paradigm even be a set of beliefs, and habits, that even hold you back in your life?  Or, even work against you, and where you want to go, in life?

Why this is important in your real life, is that you may be setting out with goals, and clear intentions of earning more money, or achieving your goals, or obtaining your definition of success, or to make changes in your life, or even simply, just going on a diet to lose weight.  Your conscious mind is crafting a plan, exerting the effort, and working daily, towards that goal, taking the individual steps, in order to get there.  However, your subconscious mind could potentially be building the exact opposite of your well minded intentions, because that is what the subconscious mind was programmed to do.  Meaning, if your subconscious mind was programmed, to do, and think something different, than anything you are trying to achieve, it will not create the desired results, which you are seeking, to matter how hard you try.

Many of us may set out, and identify our goals, that we want to achieve in life.  We put our energy and our effort behind the cause, and we may put forth a lot of work, trying to make that dream happen.  However, we keep running up against results, which are not in alignment with our dreams.  We may fall short, or end up being ‘just successful enough to get by’, but we are not experiencing abundance, or money, or wealth, in our lives, as we would expect.

You could be struggling to achieve your goals, after putting forth a tremendous amount of effort, and even wondering why this is happening?  What is the problem?  What is the cause?  Why does this keep happening?  Why am I falling short of my goal?  The reality is that no matter how much you try, and how much hard work you put towards what you desire, your subconscious mind could be creating an opposite reality, because the ‘thinking’ you were taught, and the ‘thoughts’ installed into your mind, are not the thinking and thoughts, one needs, in order to create the outcomes, which you are trying to create.  You are not in alignment with it.  The even harsher reality, is that you never will get the results you are after, until you change your paradigm.

I will take this opportunity to further explain, an even more important component, to this, is that we create our reality with our thoughts.  If we have negative thoughts in our minds, about our life, and we have negative thoughts and a negative relationship with money, we will bring about more debt, negative experiences, or financial struggles, and obstacles, in our way of receiving, in our life. Basically, whatever you believe is the truth, and if you hold negative in your mind, you will create negative in your reality, simply with those thoughts.  You become your thoughts.

If we live from a state of a positive mindset and positive frequency, we will create positive in our lives.  If we hold our goals, and our thoughts, and intentions in positivity, we have the ability to create a positive experience, and reality.  We cannot bring in abundance, money, and wealth, by living from a negative state of being.

What I mean by that is if you allow yourself to feel the feelings, around ‘how it would feel’, once you bring ‘whatever it is that you desire’, into your life, that is where you need to live.  Those feelings of happiness, or bliss, or excitement, or joy, are the feelings you need to ‘be feeling’, in your life, in order to bring your desire into the physical manifestation in your life.

Everything in this Universe is energy or matter.  Our thoughts are energy, and on different frequencies.  If we want something, that is on a higher, vibrational frequency, then we must ‘be on’ that frequency, and stay on that frequency, in order to ‘bring it into’ our lives, and our reality.  This is why there is so much truth in the cliché’ sayings of ‘good vibes only’.

If you take all of this into consideration, and you know you need to be at an elevated vibration frequency, in alignment with the goals, you wish to obtain, and you then, take inventory of the mindset you were programmed with- do they match?  Are they serving you well?  Is a change required?

As a spiritualist, I believe in God and the Universe being generous, abundant, and supporting.  I believe that we receive abundance, as our Divine right, in being in this human incarnation, and essentially, we are paid what our soul came into this life, to do.  However, our requirement is to get on the same positive mindset frequency, as the abundance exists, and I believe that abundance is ‘already given to us’.  Sometimes, we have blocks in our path, in receiving that abundance, and those blocks most often exists, within us, and especially, as seen in our paradigms.

When I started taking a look at all of this, for myself, doing my own work, around my own paradigm, I could not figure out why it had taken me so long to come across this information.  It felt so important, but yet unknown to me, and I was left confused, as to why we do not see much more information, just out in the world, more readily available, especially considering how important, I discovered one’s paradigm to be.

I will use my own personal life story, for the sake of explaining further.  I grew up in the backwoods of South Mississippi.  I had very young parents, who had no money, and living in a very small cinder block house, with a total of eight people.  I grew up in an area, with a lot of poverty, on both sides of my family.  I grew up seeing poverty culturally, ‘Statewide’, too.

I grew up with a ‘poverty mindset’, and I did not see people living with abundance, or chasing their dreams, or hear any dialogue around ‘growing to be the best version of yourself’.  There was not a lot of people living with a ‘positive mindset around money’. So, what I would have learned, and saw, and was deeply ingrained, into my subconscious mind, in the way of money, wealth, abundance, and prosperity was actually ‘negative thinking’.

We hold onto limiting beliefs, about money, and our own ability to receive it.  We grow up with ideas around money, being passed down to us.  We hear ‘money myths’ over and over, with things being said to us, like, ‘money doesn’t grow on trees’, and ‘you have to work hard for money’, and ‘you it takes money to make money’, and ‘only the rich can get richer’, or ‘people who are wealthy have done something criminal to get the money’.

These are negative, limiting beliefs around money that teach you that ‘money is bad’, or anyone who ‘has money is bad’, and the only way you can acquire money is to ‘work hard’.  When we take all of these limiting beliefs, pounded into our heads, from the time we were born, all through our formative years, we end up with habits built around these beliefs.  That is our paradigm.

I have owned businesses, and I have been involved with other people’s businesses.  What all of this meant, for me, is that I would set out with intentions of building a dream, and reaching my goals.  However, I would never get to the level, which I had hoped to.  I would always fall short, or if I reached it, it required a greater deal of effort, like I was pushing a mountain uphill.  That is not organic, and naturally unfolding, and nor can it be one’s ‘soul’s path’, if it requires force and that much effort.

It was not until I started studying books, from renowned teachers, on the subject of abundance, and money mindsets, that I came across the ‘paradigm’ information, and it was an epiphany moment.  This information came to my awareness, doing my own work around my ‘money mindset’.  My reading list was ‘Spiritual Activator: 5 Steps to Clearing, Unblocking, and Protecting Your Energy to Attract More Love, Joy, and Purpose’, by Oliver Nino.  ‘The Abundance Code: How to Bust the 7 Money Myths for a Rich Life Now’, by Julie Ann Cairns.  I read ‘Think & Grow Rich’, by Napoleon Hill, and Bob Proctor’s ‘Change Your Paradigm, Change Your Life’.  All of this reading material, collectively, allowed me to understand my own mental mindset, and helped me understand how to change it

I dove deeply, doing the necessary work on myself, to reprogram my thinking.  This required replacing negative thoughts, with positive, affirming statements. This has required repetition, in introducing the replacement thoughts into my subconscious mind.  The best description is that I feel like I am stepping out of box, and stepping out in the world, fresh, and brand new, releasing beliefs about myself, which no longer served me well.

I did not learn how to reach for the stars, and chase goals, and dream big, in life.  I was taught limiting beliefs, and a poverty mindset.  Just the simple awareness, and acceptance of that, was my first step in changing it. I have had to reprogram myself, with a new paradigm, of my choosing.  Every day I read positive information, to shift my mindset into one around my ‘infinite human potential’, and I work on the positive affirmations.  This is when I started to see change in my life.  If I can change my own paradigm, so can you!

I have learned from this journey, and I have taken this knowledge, and used it, in the work, which I do, with my clients, who are embarking on their own, personal, transformation journeys.  Before we set out, determining goals, and creating the roadmap, of what is required to help them reach their goals, we first do a personal inventory.

We take a close, deep, look at their mindset- is it positive, or negative, and we make any necessary changes.  Then, we do the necessary work, around their existing paradigms, and I help them to do the work around ‘reprogramming their paradigms’, so they are ‘ready to receive’ the abundance, wealth, prosperity, and money, that God and the Universe have provided, to them, already, in this human incarnation.
